NBA off-season update: Jimmy Butler
The 2011 draft is now complete and to everyone's surprise the Bulls did not take a shooting guard. Instead they drafted the 6 ft 7in SF Jimmy Butler to back up Luol Deng and further boost one of the deepest benches in the league last season. Jimmy Butler will not be an all-star at the next level but he will be a solid role player for the Bulls. He doesn't wow anyone with his athleticism or his scoring ability but Butler has the height and reach to defend NBA players, play gritty D, and definitely fits into the Bulls defensive scheme. Some current NBA comparisons could be a poor man's version of Luol Deng, James Posey with the potential to become a surprise player Wesley Matthews was last 2 seasons.
